Story Bridge: Find Your Voice

College Essay Coaching for High School Students

Your story is already there. We help you find it.

Most college essays sound like college essays: polished, predictable, forgettable. The best ones sound like the person who wrote them. Story Bridge helps high school juniors discover meaningful narratives, develop their voice, and arrive at senior year ready to write.

The pattern we keep seeing

Students default to topics they think sound impressive. They use language that doesn’t sound like them. They hit senior fall with a blank page and no idea where to start. Junior year is the moment to change that — before the pressure of applications takes over.

What we offer

Story Bridge college essay programming comes in three formats: choose what fits your students and timeline best.

Intensive Workshop

A full-day (or two-day) experience led by Jenn and Adam at your school. Students move through our Discover → Shape → Share framework together, building community as they uncover their stories. No clichés. No essays that could have been written by anyone. Students leave with a rough draft and a clear revision path.

1:1 Coaching

For students who want sustained, personalized support. Jenn or Adam works directly with a student from early brainstorming through a polished final draft — at the pace that fits their senior year schedule.

Draft to Done Cohorts

A small-group program that combines the energy of a cohort with individualized feedback. Students move through the essay process together over several sessions, workshopping drafts and building on each other's momentum. Ideal for schools looking to support a cohort of students through the full arc of the process.

The essay no one else could write.

Jenn and Adam are award-winning authors, not coaches with a checklist. The storytelling methodology at the heart of our work is the same one students use to find their essay. Because the ability to tell your story authentically isn’t just a college skill. It’s a life skill.

What students and schools are saying

"I appreciated how supportive and honest Jenn and Adam were with creating an authentic and meaningful experience to help with storytelling … I learned the importance of really digging deep and found the 'so what' for my essay."

— Student

"Typically, students describe the process of crafting and drafting essays as the most burdensome part of the college application process. In contrast, our parent population is raving about how their kids bonded through these workshops.”

— Director of College Counseling
